A new home for employees: keys handed over for modern staff accommodation at Schloss Fuschl Betriebe in Hof near Salzburg

The sustainable construction project will be officially opened with a key handover ceremony on November 27, 2025: a win for the region and a strong signal for the attractiveness of Schloss Fuschl Betriebe as an employer.

Hof near Salzburg, November 27, 2025 – On schedule, sustainable, and collaborative in the best sense of the word: the new staff residence in Hof near Salzburg has been completed and was handed over to Schloss Fuschl Betriebe on November 27, 2025, by the non-profit housing association Heimat Österreich to Schloss Fuschl. In the presence of Karl-Heinz Pawlizki, CEO of Arabella Hospitality SE, Mayor Daniela Rosenegger and Head of Office Tobias Franz Schrempf, the directors of Heimat Österreich Stephan Gröger and Michael Schober, the managing director of the construction company RHZ Josef Rettenwander, and state parliament representatives Nicole Leitner and Hannes Költringer, Father Armand d’Harcourt blessed the building, symbolically opening a new chapter in the history of Schloss Fuschl Betriebe.

Comfortable living in an ideal location

The modern building comprises 80 residential units, divided into 62 single rooms, each measuring around 26 square meters, and 18 double rooms measuring around 34 square meters. Spacious balconies and terraces, as well as contemporary bathrooms and cooking facilities, make the apartments a place where comfort and functionality come together in harmony. A particular advantage is the location: the Rosewood Schloss Fuschl and Arabella Jagdhof Resort hotels on Lake Fuschl and the Schlossfischerei restaurant are within walking distance, and there is a bus stop right outside the door. Short distances, modern facilities, and a high level of living comfort create optimal conditions for employees, who are already looking forward to the new accommodation options. In addition, the complex offers a communal garden, bicycle parking spaces with e-charging stations, and modern communal areas, providing ideal conditions for a positive work-life balance.

“I am very pleased with the timely completion of this important project. The fact that it was possible to complete it in record time of only nine months and so smoothly is thanks to the excellent cooperation of all those involved: Heimat Österreich, the construction company RHZ, local craftsmen, and the authorities all pulled together here. Our employees have been eagerly awaiting the new apartments. They are looking forward to modern living units, some with lake views, smart technology solutions, and short commutes to work. This employee residence is a clear statement: we are investing in people’s well-being and in the future of this location,” explains Karl-Heinz Pawlizki, CEO of Arabella Hospitality SE, which also owns Schloss Fuschl as a subsidiary.

Sustainable energy and water supply

Sustainability has been a central guiding principle of the project from the outset. A photovoltaic system with a peak output of 140 kilowatts generates clean electricity; surplus energy is fed into parts of the Schloss Fuschl operations, such as the castle fishery, and used for the charging stations. The existing wood chip heating system at Schloss Fuschl was expanded with an additional boiler and now supplies both the Arabella Jagdhof Resort and the new staff residence with environmentally friendly heat. A pipe had to be laid under the road specifically for the connection. This project was completed on schedule thanks to the rapid approval of the federal road administration. The historic Diana spring, which already supplies the two hotels, has also been reactivated and expanded so that the residents of the staff accommodation can also benefit from fresh spring water in the future.

A win for employees and the region

Another hallmark of the project is its close regional ties. It was implemented by the non-profit housing association Heimat Österreich in close cooperation with the property developer RHZ and numerous local craft businesses. This ensured that the added value remained in the region and that expertise and quality from Hof and the surrounding area were incorporated into the project.

With the new employee residence, Schloss Fuschl Betriebe is sending a clear signal about its employer strategy. Attractive housing options are a decisive factor in attracting and retaining skilled workers in the long term. The sustainable project underscores the company’s commitment to being not only an attractive employer, but also a responsible player in the region.
