OUR ROOTS

Arabella – Josef Schörghuber, the founder of the company, named the company after his daughter Arabella Schörghuber and opened the first hotel in Munich’s Arabellapark in 1969. As part of the Schörghuber corporate family and in close cooperation with its sister company Bayerische Hausbau, the company expanded in the decades that followed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and on Mallorca.

Its cooperation with ITT Sheraton, now Mariott International, enabled Arabella Hospitality to become a global player for both the development and the operation of hotel real estate. It also made a name for itself in the golf business with the golf courses it operates under the Arabella Golf brand. Today, Arabella Hospitality focuses not only the city hotel and holiday resort industry but also on the high-end luxury hotel industry, operating iconic properties such as The Westin Hamburg in the Elbphilharmonie and leasing the internationally renowned Rosewood Munich.
