Munich, December 16, 2024: Arabella Hospitality SE is appointing Udo Merting to the position of January 1, 2025 to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his new role, he will assume overall responsibility for the financial strategy of the Munich-based Schörghuber Group’s Hotel division and work closely with the management team to support and implement Arabella Hospitality’s long-term goals.

Udo Merting has over 35 years of experience in finance, controlling and the hotel industry, including 30 years at the long-established German company Steigenberger Hotels GmbH, which is now part of the international group H World International. There he held various management positions in finance, most recently as Vice President Governance, Risk & Compliance, and was able to make a significant contribution to the financial stability and growth of the company. In addition to his studies in business administration and tourism management, Udo Merting has completed training as a hotel specialist and chef, which gives him a deep understanding of operational processes in the hotel industry.

Udo Merting succeeds Anton Reichl, who is leaving the company by mutual agreement after many years of successful service. Anton Reichl had been responsible for the Munich hotels as Complex Financial Controller at Arabella Hospitality since 2010 before taking over the position of CFO on February 1, 2019.
